Gerry, pancreatic cancer took my older brother. It's a heartless bitch, and I'm delighted that you've kicked it to the curb. Hoping it stays that way. You treated me like a peer when I was a kid bookseller, and you're one of the big reasons I loved comics, got into the biz, wrote a bunch of them and a bunch of novels on top of that. I hope we cross paths again one of these days.

Thank Cthulhu you’re doing better. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying your family and time together. That’s much better spent than time on here!

I lost a dear friend to that aggressive form of cancer a few years ago at far too young an age. It’s heartening to hear it can (fingers crossed) be survived, and I’m delighted you’re still with us. Appreciate your sharing this. Very best!

We have lost a few too many fine creators the past couple of years. I'm very glad you're still with us. Take care, be well, and share what you can.

Thank you for this update, Gerry. After learning of (and joining) your "Appreciation Society" on Facebook, I've been thinking a lot about you, how much your work has meant to me, and how much I value the conversations we've had over the years, which I've always likened to sitting at the feet of the Master. I hope we get to meet in person one of these days! If you're attending NY Comic Con 2024, I'll make sure our paths finally cross!

Glad to hear things went about as well as they could. Ever since you mentioned your cancer a couple of years ago, every now and then I'd wonder, "How's Gerry Conway doing?" so this update is welcome news.

I owe you for all the happiness you brought into my childhood with your fantastic stories. Your Thor run is what made me a Marvel fan for life. The Hercules / Thor superhero buddies stories, the return of Galactus, Absorbing Man, the Destroyer, the creation of Firelord, the return of Jane Foster, Odin's self exile to Earth! Actually I already was a Marvel fan since the Marvel Action Hour cartoons but your stories cemented it! Hope to see you more active in comic book conventions. Your contribution to pop culture is legendary and invaluable! I'm so glad you are doing better and my prayers for your continued recovery. Today my mother just got diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma, a form of breast cancer, we are all praying her story will be of survival too! Reading your post gives me hopes for her.
